Ayurveda – The Key to Living your best life

Updated: Feb 26, 2023

Our previous blogs explored various enriching aspects of the traditional medicine system in India since time immemorial.

It is no secret that the science of Ayurveda is implanted in the fact that when we live in a state of harmony & peace, we can make positive life changes for recovery & health.

So what is it that makes this healthcare system more sustainable & long-lasting? This blog packs in some interesting aspects to help you make the right health choices.

The wisdom of Ayurveda encourages a holistic approach towards a harmonious balance between the mind, body & soul by revealing the deeper causes of one’s health condition.

As a medical science, Ayurveda is known for integrating closely with the rhythms of nature. Successful Ayurvedic practices allow for the conscious prevention of ailments & diseases by identifying the root causes, which in turn inspires well-being & vitality.

Did you know that the knowledge of Ayurveda has successfully spread across the physical boundaries of India? Its far-reaching impact has resonated both in the Eastern and Western worlds as a tool to support disease-free living.

To further break language barriers, Ayurveda has been adapted into an endless number of languages such as Chinese, Greek, English, Spanish, Tibetan, Greek, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, etc.

The Ayurvedic system of healing is built on four pillars - food, sleep, exercise and emotional wellness.

Ayurveda works on the principle of opposites. To restore balance in your Vata dosha, one is encouraged to eat & adopt a lifestyle that is opposite in nature.

Vata-constitution is dry and cold, so consuming warm & nourishing foods and practices can help restore the imbalance.

Stages of Imbalance

According to Ayurveda, there are six stages of imbalance -
  • Accumulation of dosha/s (Sanchaya)

  • Aggravation of a dosha/s (Prakopa)

  • Spread of the dosha to other parts of the body (Prasara)

  • Localization is when the aggravation spreads away from its original location in the body (Sthana Samshraya)

  • Disruption in the body (Vyakti)

  • The last stage is when the disease manifests & takes a life of its own (Bheda).

In the current scenario, Ayurveda as an alternative healthcare system is steadily progressing in a world that seeks instant healing and immediate gratification.

The big difference between modern medicine and Ayurveda is the fact that the former treats the manifested symptoms while the latter identifies the reason & treats the root of the problem instead of only the affected part of the body.

People's sentiments have gradually shifted towards adopting natural medicine and healthcare practices. Every day more and more people are drawn towards Ayurveda & its impact on their lives.

The timeless, ancient concept of Ayurveda holds its relevance to date by being more accessible and will continue to do so in the coming future.

One way or the other, we all need to adapt to this wholesome & healthy approach for our internal & external well-being.

The more natural the remedies, the lesser the side effects, leading us towards a healthy and pandemic-free future.

So the next time you seek effective treatment, try using Ayurveda. It may take a little longer, but the end result is worth the effort. As the popular saying goes, “prevention is better than cure”.

Finally, Ayurveda's very purpose is to obtain human happiness, health & self-care.

It's never too late to invite health & celebrate your best self through the preventative healing & long-lasting benefits of Ayurveda.

Stay Well & Healthy
